The event season hasn’t yet started for the ponies and I due to the ‘Beast from the East’ ruining our plans! However, both Mojo and Magic are feeling very well and enjoyed their first few outings of 2018 at the BE JAS series, including Mojo finishing a fab 6th at the final in the BE100 Open. Unfortunately, after travelling up to Oasby Pony Trial the day before competition to settle in and walk the course, the following morning it was abandoned. This meant an extra week to get some practise in for Aldon Pony Trial but once again it was abandoned!! However, this weekend (24th/25th March) the weather was finally on our side. On Saturday I took both ponies to Summerhouse for an eventers challenge. Mojo jumped a speedy clear in the 90cm for 2nd, followed by an unfortunate pole in the 1m. Magic was very pleased to be out again and jumped amazing clears in the 1m and 1m10 to win both – a very good day! On Sunday it was time for a dressage outing on Magic at West Wilts for PC Dengie second rounds. She did a lovely test to finish 2nd on 75% and qualify for the finals at Addington Manor in a few weeks.

This coming week, if all goes to plan, I’m taking Magic cross country schooling and on Good Friday Mojo and I are at Goring in the BE100 Open. Magic’s next event is Weston Pony Trial followed by Eland Lodge ONu18, as well as Sapey 100u18 in between on Mojo. Let’s hope we get no more snow and at last our 2018 season might begin…
