Rufford Pony Club Event Training – “GET EVENT READY” WITH OLIVIA DAWSON (1 hour sessions)

Open to all members jumping 70cm and above and interested in Eventing next season.

We are delighted to be able to offer members this opportunity to train our very own Pony Club Instructor and BHS Accredited Professional Coach, Libby Dawson.

Sessions will be an hour in length and will run from 5.30pm with the last session starting at 7.30pm.

Arena Cross Country and Show Jumps will be used to simulate cross country style lines and exercises to develop the skills required for cross country riding.

Please indicate your preferred choice below with regard to height:

• 70 – 80cm
• 80-90cm
• 90cm +

Entries are subject to a non refundable booking fee as stated online

Rules of the Rally:

Rufford Polo and Sweatshirt or white Shirt and Pony Club Tie, Black, Brown, Navy White or Beige Jodhpurs.

Jodhpur or Long Boots (No Trainers, Wellies or Muckers allowed whilst riding)

Riding hat conforming to Pony Club Standard (tagged) – for XC skull caps must be worn.

Up to standard body protectors required for XC.

Any new members attending for the first time or if any member has recently purchased a new hat your hat must be checked and tagged before you are allowed to ride.

Long hair must be secured neatly / worn in a hair net.

No Jewellery allowed.

RUFFORD PONY CLUB RALLY GUIDANCE

It is the parent/guardian’s responsibility to ensure both rider and horse are fit to complete the session.

Vaccination requirements (it is the member/parent’s responsibility to ensure compliance before booking – vaccination checks will take place):

Equine Vaccinations:

All horses/ponies entering the event site must comply with the Pony Club Vaccination guidelines (effective 1^st Jan 2023) – passports must accompany all horses/ponies and spot checks will be undertaken:

• An initial primary course of two vaccinations must be given: the second vaccination must be administered within 21-92 days of the first vaccination.
• Horses may attend gatherings 7 days after receiving the second vaccination of the primary course.
• The first booster must be administered within 7 calendar months following the date of the administration of the second vaccination of the primary course
• Booster vaccinations must be administered at a maximum of 12 months intervals.

For clarity: no horse or pony may compete/attend and event on the same day as a relevant injection is given or on any of the 6 days following such an injection

Passports must accompany horses to all events (legal requirement) and should be presented to the event organiser for checking on arrival.

No Refunds after close of entry

If the event is cancelled for any reason entry fees  will be refunded excluding Horse-Events booking fee less 40p admin costs
